Who we are

This website is operated by FDZ Barbershop LLC, which does business as The Fade Crew. We are a barbershop, and we are responsible for the information described in this policy.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you fill in the barber application form on our Join Our Team page, we collect what you type into it: your name, phone number, email address, city and state, whether you are licensed, how long you have been cutting, details about your current work and income, links to your portfolio or social profiles, and your written answers about your goals and why you want to join.

If you email us or call the shop, we have whatever you choose to tell us.

Appointments are booked on Vagaro, not here. When you tap a booking button you leave this site, and the details you enter there are collected by Vagaro under its own policy.

Information collected automatically

Our host records ordinary server logs for every visit — your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser and operating system — which is how any website works and how we keep this one secure.

If you allow analytics or advertising cookies, more is collected: which pages you view and for how long, which links and buttons you click, the site or search that sent you, your approximate location worked out from your IP address, and a randomly generated identifier that lets the tools recognise the same browser on a later visit.

Session recordings

When analytics cookies are allowed, PostHog may record a replay of your visit — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page changes — so we can watch back where the site confused someone. Not every visit is recorded. Text you type into form fields is masked before the recording leaves your browser, so we do not see what you typed. Nothing is recorded at all unless you have allowed analytics cookies.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixels. Everything in the last two categories below stays off until you switch it on: no analytics or advertising code is downloaded, and no request reaches Google or PostHog, until you agree.

One exception, so you are not surprised by it: the map on our Location page is embedded from Google Maps and loads when you open that page, because it is the page’s main content. Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies when it does. Every other page reaches Google only after you say yes.

To change what you have allowed, open . Turning a category off stops new data being collected and deletes the cookies we can reach from this site, such as those named _ga, _gcl_, and PostHog’s. We cannot reach data already held on Google’s or PostHog’s own servers; use the links further down to deal with that directly.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. No common standard was ever agreed for how websites should answer it, so this site does not respond to it.

We do honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, advertising cookies are kept off automatically and cannot be turned on, whichever button you press on the cookie panel.

How we use it

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to decide anything that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. A person reads every job application.

Who we share it with

We do not share your information with anyone except the service providers below, who process it on our behalf, and anyone we are legally required to give it to — for example in response to a valid legal request, or to protect someone’s safety.

If the business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer with it. We would update this policy before that changed anything about how your information is handled.

Text messaging

We only text people who contacted us first. If you call the shop and choose an option from the phone menu, or send us a text, we use your number to send the message you asked for — our address and parking, a link to book, reschedule or cancel, the next available appointment, or a message passed on to one of our barbers.

When you text us to reach a barber, we pass your message on from the shop’s number and send their reply back the same way, so neither of you ever sees the other’s personal number. We keep a record of these conversations so replies reach the right person, and you can ask us to delete yours.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your number and your messages go to Twilio, the service that carries the texts, and nowhere else.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Selling and advertising

We do not sell your personal information for money. We never have, and we have no plans to.

We do want to be straight with you about one thing. When you allow advertising cookies, information about your visit goes to Google so we can measure which ads work and show our ads to people who have been here before. Several state privacy laws define that kind of arrangement as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or as “targeted advertising”, even though no money changes hands and we receive nothing for it.

That is why it is off by default. Leave the advertising category unchecked, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, and none of it happens. You can switch it off later with , and we will not treat you differently for it — there is no worse price, no worse service, and no reduced site.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Your choices and rights

We offer the following to every visitor, wherever you live, rather than only where a law requires it.

To use any of these, email leo@thefadecrew.com with what you would like. We may ask a question or two to confirm you are who you say you are, and we only use what you send for that purpose. We will get to it as quickly as we can, and we will tell you where things stand if it is going to take a while. It is free.

An authorised agent can make a request for you if you give them written permission and we can verify it.

Controlling tracking yourself

If you apply to work with us

Your application is stored in our PostgreSQL database, hosted for us by our infrastructure provider, and is read by the owner and whoever is hiring. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.

When you submit it, two emails are sent through Resend: a confirmation to you, and a notification to us.

If you have allowed analytics cookies, your email address is also sent to PostHog and attached to the record of your visit, so we can see how applicants found us. If you have not allowed analytics cookies, none of that happens and your application is unaffected — the form works exactly the same either way.

We hold on to applications so we can reconsider people when a chair opens up, and to meet the record-keeping obligations that come with hiring. Ask us at leo@thefadecrew.com and we will delete yours.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, the admin area is password protected and reachable only by staff accounts, and our providers are established companies with their own security programmes. No website can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and we keep what we collect to a minimum for exactly this reason.

Children’s privacy

We cut children’s hair, and we are glad to. This website, though, is meant for adults: it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information through this site, email leo@thefadecrew.com and we will delete it.

Other sites we link to

Our booking buttons go to Vagaro, and we link to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Google Maps. Once you land on one of those, you are covered by their privacy policies and not by this one. We have no control over what they collect.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page. If the change is a significant one — a new category of tracking, or a new reason we use your information — we will ask for your consent again through the cookie panel before it takes effect, so an old answer is never applied to a new question.

How to reach us

Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy all go to the same place, and a person reads them.
